Kinetic Grand Championship

The Kinetic Grand Championship is a quirky, three-day race of human-powered sculptures that spans 50 miles along California’s North Coast. Known as the “Triathlon of the Art World,” participants, or “Kinetinauts,” create wild, inventive machines that travel over roads, sand dunes, mud, and water. This beloved Memorial Day weekend event celebrates creativity, engineering, and a sense of humor—where art and endurance collide in the most unforgettable way!
Day 1
The race starts at the Arcata Plaza @ noon(ish)
Sculptures end day 1 at Halvorsen Park in Eureka
Day 2
Sculptures enter the water at the Wharfinger Boat Ramp in Eureka between 10:07am and 12:07pm and exit under the Samoa Bridge.
Day 3
The finish line in Ferndale opens at 1pm
