Clarke Museum Pumpkin Carving Contest

CLARKE MUSEUM HOSTS PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST

Since it’s likely that this year’s Halloween will be another Pandemic one, the Clarke Museum is hosting a virtual pumpkin carving contest!

Entry is easy- go to clarkemuseum.org/events to access the link for the entry form, where you can upload images of your pumpkin carving. Entries are open now through October 14 through the virtual form. Voting runs from October 15 to October 30. Winners will be chosen by the number of “Likes” their image receives on Clarke Museum Facebook page and the winners will be announced on October 31. There are 4 categories: History, Spooky, “Traditional” Jack O’ Lantern, and Freestyle.

Winners in each category will receive a prize and their pumpkin will be shared on the Clarke’s Facebook and Newsletter. Prizes have been donated from a number of local businesses including Northtown Books. Eureka Art Center Frame Shop, known for their recent donation of two amazing Victorian-themed shadowboxes for the Museum’s Very Victorian Tea, will be donating an outstanding shadowbox featuring a bat skeleton. Follow the Clarke Museum Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or join our newsletter to see the prizes as they come in and get updates on the carving competition.

All skill levels welcome! There is a suggested donation for entry, sliding scale $5 to $15 to support the ongoing work of the Clarke Museum.

The mission of the Clarke Historical Museum is to celebrate the rich and varied history of Northwestern California by preserving, sharing, and interpreting that history in ways that increase knowledge, enrich the spirit, engage the mind, and stimulate the imagination.

The Clarke Museum has been undergoing renovations and will reopen to the public on September 26. The Visitor Center in the front of the museum remains open from 10 am to 5 pm 7 days a week. Follow the Museum on Social Media for updates and interesting stories from the Museum.
