Join Debbie Weist, owner & instructor for Dance with Debbie, for a Slow Dance Lesson, just in time for Valentine’s Day! Weist will lead an all levels dance lesson at the Morris Graves Museum of Art on Sunday, February 9th at 2:00pm for the Afternoon of Dance.

“Dancing is an excellent way to meet new friends, get in shape, and have fun at the same time,” Weist says. "We chose a Slow Dance Lesson for the Morris Graves Museum of Art’s Afternoon of Dance event for its romantic flavor and ease in learning." In the weekend before Valentine’s Day, this is a perfect event for getting out on the dancefloor with your sweetheart!

Slow dancing is a curious phenomenon. It’s not taught much at dance studios; you don’t get any good hits when you search online for it; it’s not easily defined; nor is there a widely accepted curriculum. Yet it may be the one dance that every guy wishes he could do. And while it’s not easily defined, most people, including non-dancers, probably know it when they see it. Dancers just need to sway their bodies in accordance with the beats of music. Since the music is slow, it doesn't take much effort to adjust to the beats and dance accordingly. Weist will explain the basic principles of dancing with a partner and give you a simple combination to give you the confidence to get out and dance when that really slow song comes on!

Debbie Weist, owner & instructor for Dance with Debbie, strives to support and promote ballroom, Latin, & swing dance in the community through group and private lessons and partnerships with local organizations.  These partnerships include choreographing and teaching dances for the Redwood Coast Music Festival, local theater productions, weddings, and more. Dancing is an excellent way to meet new friends, get in shape, and have fun at the same time.  You can have a tailor-made private lesson or join a group class in Eureka. Like them on Facebook and check their website to see all they have to offer: www.dancewithdebbie.biz
