Join us at the Morris Graves Museum of Art on Sunday, February 2nd at 2:00pm to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Museum and hear a special “behind the scenes” Art Talk with Jemima Harr, Executive Director and Curator of the Humboldt Arts Council. Jemima will be available to answer questions about the HAC/MGMA, our permanent collection, current exhibitions, and the history of the MGMA’s home, The Carnegie Free Library in Eureka.
Jemima Harr has served as the Executive Director-Curator for the Humboldt Arts Council in the Morris Graves Museum of Art since 2004. With degrees in Art History as well as Museum & Gallery Practices from Humboldt State University, Jemima has collaborated on countless museum exhibitions and programs, including with the San Francisco Airport Museum, the Triton Museum of Art, and the Richard L. Nelson Gallery at the University of California, Davis. In 2015 Jemima served as the North Coast region’s Learning Collaboratives’ facilitator, part of the California Networks for Collaboration, a program of the California Association of Museums. Jemima is currently serving a two year term as a board member for the California Association of Museums.

The Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street, Eureka is open to the public noon-5p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for seniors (age 65 and over), military veterans, and students with ID; children 17 and under free; Families with an EBT Card and valid ID receive free admission through the Museums for All initiative, Museum members are free. Admission is always free for everyone on the first Saturday of every month, including First Saturday Night Arts Alive!, 6-9 p.m. and Mini Masters at the MGMA.
