The Eureka Theater’s 80th birthday celebration continues with a triple feature from 1939, arguably the greatest year in movie history.
Sunday, March 3rd
Doors open 2:00
2:30: follow Dorothy and friends down the yellow brick road and see the Wizard of Oz as it was meant to be seen–on the big screen.
5:00: it’s Destry Rides Again the charming comedy-western starring James Stewart and Marlene Dietrich. When a tough western town needs taming, the mild-mannered son of a hard-nosed sheriff gets the job.
7:00: The Marx Brothers are At the Circus, trying to save the circus for its young owner by getting a performance at a high-society party. A highlight is Groucho’s classic rendition of “Lydia the Tattooed Lady.”
And of course, plenty of cartoons and shorts to fill in the gaps.
